Glossy Black Cockatoo - I just uploaded a video reviewing my 400 5.6(link in bio) lens and I showcase a few images I have taken with it over the years, this is one such image. A beautiful bird that I was lucky to see at my old property on the coast.

Eastern Bristlebird - It's always nice when a bird picks its own perch in nice light. Even better when it's an endangered bird that likes to skulk around in the thick heath. I took this many years ago(2013), and only looked at this image as this species was impacted by recent fires and I was contacted for this image. Its always nice to look at old images and reflect on the good time with friends capturing it.👍

Jacky Winter - A resident Robin on the property is the charismatic Jacky. Whilst they lack the colour of their counterparts they make up for it with character. I don't seem to take that many BIF shots but this bird was coming in to land and I managed this shot. I hope those in the rain affected areas of Australia are safe and well. What a crazy time for Australia in regards to extreme weather. Strangely we have not had a drop of rain yet.

I think my brain is conditioned to the shutter noise and releases feel good chemicals when I hear it. 😁I am a little worried when I eventually move to digital that I will miss that noise.

I wanted to challenge myself to use an old 10mp camera from 2007 and the first lens I ever purchased. I created a video (link in bio) showing how I went. Eastern Yellow Robin - I took this 6 years ago on my old 7D, it had way too much noise to do much with. I recently started using Topaz Denoise and it works amazing at removing noise. Hooded Robin - I spent a lovely morning with this

Hooded Robin - I spent a lovely morning with this male, his partner and daughter. I am very lucky to have a breeding pair on the property and they seem to be doing well.
As you can see his plumage is very similar to the Black Honeyeater I posted recently. I often wonder how these birds ended up the colours they are.

Crested Shrike-tit - What a wonderful surprise this morning when this stunner turned up. Not uncommon in these parts but a first for my property. This species uses its bill to peel back bark looking for prey, you often hear them before you see them.

Black Honeyeater - A very rare visitor to the property is this nomadic Honeyeater. It was a real surprise to see it as I didn't think there was much flowering at the moment. This is the male with the black head. Funny how it's plumage is very similar to the Hooded Robin. Taken with @chrismorecroft during a great session. --
